TARA'S BIRTHDAY PENUCHE FROSTING

1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla

1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 T. milk (maybe more)

Over low heat, melt butter and add brown sugar. Cook 2 minutes, keep stirring! Add milk, cook until mixtures boils (takes a few minutes, keep stirring). Remove from heat, gradually add powdered sugar, add vanilla. Easiest way is with electric mixer to get out lumps. Hardens VERY fast, have cake ready to frost. Add small amount of milk if too hard, use hot knife to spread. Great on spice or applesauce cake.

Note: This is enough frosting for top of 9 x 13 cake, I usually double this for tube or layer cake. I made this for many, many of Tara's birthdays or just as a treat!

We can not judge a biograph by it's length we must judge it by the richness of it's contents... Sometimes the "unfinished's" are among the most beautiful of symphonies.
