TONI RAE'S FABULOUS SHEET CAKE

Cake


 

1 c. water
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda

2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 cube margarine
3 1/2 T. cocoa
1/2 c. Crisco

 


Cream together sugar and flour. In a saucepan, combine margarine, cocoa, Crisco, and water. Bring to a boil. Pour over flour mixture and stir well. Add eggs, vanilla, buttermilk, and soda. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured cake pan. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes until done.

Frosting

 


In a saucepan, combine margarine, cocoa, and milk. Bring to a boil. Cool and add powdered sugar until desired thickness for frosting. Add vanilla, mix. Spread on cake.

Note: This is Toni Rae's favorite cake that she always talked her Aunty Fay into making for her birthday!

TERRI'S BANANA NUT CAKE AND CREAM CHEESE ICING
 

Banana Nut Cake

1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
4 T. buttermilk
2 c. flour
1 c. nuts, chopped

1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 stick butter
2 eggs
3 bananas, mashed
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. banana extract







Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Then add bananas, vanilla, banana flavoring, salt, buttermilk, flour, soda, and nuts. Mix and bake at 350° for about 35 minutes or until done in a long Pyrex pan. (Works best in a glass pan)

Cream Cheese Icing
 

1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 stick butter
2 eggs
3 bananas, mashed
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. banana extract

1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 stick butter
2 eggs
3 bananas, mashed
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. banana extract

 


                                         
Combine butter, cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Beat until creamy smooth.

Note: This is my late cousin's recipe. It's named after her. My Mom absolutely loved this cake. It was her favorite cake of all time. I guarantee this will be the hit of any event!!
